A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk email messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam protection software. It’s also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
You’ll be able to configure a catch-all mailbox easily if you have a cloud hosting plan with our company. The Email Manager in our custom-created Hepsia Control Panel is fully featured, yet very simple to use, and it will permit you to enable different features, including the catch-all one, with only a few clicks of the mouse. All the mailboxes that you have set up will be displayed in alphabetical order in this section and next to each of them you’ll notice a tiny "Catch-all" sign. Clicking on it once will enable the feature, clicking on it for a second time will deactivate it. Since you can have only one such mailbox per domain name, our system will inform you if you already have a different mailbox with this option activated or if you have active email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we’re offering will permit you to create a catch-all email mailbox without any efforts even if you do not have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you’ve created using your domains in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will inform you if you have already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you don’t need this feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
